• Niagara 2298 is a modular external Fiber & Copper Bypass unit for Gigabit Ethernet & Fiber Channel.
• Niagara 2298 supports up to four segments. The four segments could be a combination of Copper, single mode fiber or multi Mode fiber.
  Niagara 2298 is designed with a built-in bypass circuit to provide maximum up time for the network.
• Niagara 2298 protects the network up time by removing the failed server off line without any interruption to data traffic.

Plug & Play

• Niagara 2298 is a plug and play device. No need to add drivers to the appliance.
• Niagara 2298 generates the heartbeat and passes to the appliance in band with data traffic.

Highly Reliable

• Niagara 2298 utilizes two redundant external power supplies for maximum reliability.
• Niagara 2298 deploys passive bypass along with active switching for fail safe operation.

Niagara 2298 emails system administrator in case of:

• Power failure on one of the redundant power supplies

• Change of state from bypass to inline on any modules
• Loss of link on any of sixteen ports
• Loss of heartbeat from any module
• Temperature inside the chassis exceed maximum recommended limit

Management Software

Niagara 2298 supports SNMP, TCP/IP, UDP, web based management and therefore could be fully managed though the network.
