Overview

The Niagara 701-BP is a 1 GbE quad port network adapter that leverages Freescale’s QorIQ™ P4080 octal core processor to address high speed networking applications. The network adapter comes in PCI-e, gen 2.0 form factor. This sophisticated NIC can be set up easily to create a standalone table top embedded system or can be used as a server by itself. The system comes with Linux development environment.

The Niagara 701-BP incorporates the hardware and software building blocks for developing of Intelligent networking platform that supports the growing demand for intelligent network acceleration and application offload for converged datacenter applications such as storage, security, deep packet inspection (DPI), Firewall, WAN Optimization, and application delivery (ADC) computing.

Niagara 701-BP is designed with a built-in programmable bypass circuit to provide maximum uptime for the network. The bypass circuit takes the Niagara 701-BP ports offline in case of either power or software failure. The bypass circuit works in absence of power.
